So, how can we apply these tricks on our phone? You have to know the Operating System of your phone. Here's the List of Mobile Phone Operating System.
Some of the Tricks maybe phone dependent too, like the space trick wont work on SonyEricsson Phones, IP tricks wont work on OS7 phones.
Lets say we have a php proxy
IP: moosebowl.com or 66.36.248.150
Port: 80
On Most SE Phones:
Menu, Settings, Connectivity, Internet Settings, Select SmartInternet, More, Advance Settings. Proxy > ON, Proxy > moosebowl.com or 66.36.248.15, Port > 80, SAVE.
On Most Nokia Phones:
Menu, Settings, Connectivity, Packet Data, Internet Settings, Select SmartInternet, More, Advance Settings. Proxy > ON, Proxy > moosebowl.com or 66.36.248.15, Port > 80, SAVE.
On Most S40 Phone(Manually Configured):
Goto Personal Config Settings, Choose Option, Add New, Select WEB.
1. Set these values.
- Account name: Name it anything
- Homepage: http://free to access site of your operator
- User Name: (blank)
- Password: (blank)
- Use Pref. Access pt.: NO
~Access point settings
- Proxy: Enabled
- Proxy Address: moosebowl.com or 66.36.248.150
- Proxy port: 80
- Data Bearer: Packet Data
~ Bearer Settings
- Packet data access point: internet
- Network type: IPv4
- Authentification type: normal
- Username: (blank)
- Password: (blank)
Go back to Personal Account Menu, Select this settings you had created, Option, then "ACTIVATE"
Then Add another account, this time Access Point(APN)
1. Set these values.
- Account name: Any name
Access Point Settings
- Data Bearer: Packet data
Bearer Settings
- Packet data acc. pt.: internet
- Network type: IPv4
- Authentification type: normal
- Username: (blank)
- Password: (blank)
Go back to Personal Account Menu, Select this settings you had created, Option, then "ACTIVATE".
Then Restart Your Phone. Done!
Another thing with S40 users, you can use a .prov file, the use of this one, it has all the settings needed, all you have to do is to find a way to have it Bluetooth or IR toward your phone.
